This is the story of a colour change, what do you think? From dull BRG to Bright Atlantis Blue.

Cracking colour! Why did you decide to go for a full respray?

Hi all,
Thanks for your comments and many thanks to Ian for fixing my posting. We decided on a full respray as the nearside front wing and both rear wheel arches were badly rusted, also hundreds of tiny dents.
We found BRG to be too dull a colour for us, on green country lanes she just disappeared into the background. We chose Bright Atlantic Blue which is a Mazda colour from 1998 and found the chrome strip in Lidl at just £9.99 a roll, we used some of it on the inside to finish off the walnut trim and it looks superb. Can't wait for next summer to roll on. :D :) :D :) :D :) :D :)

Nice paint job, love the colour. Must say the chrome around the car is not to my taste, but thats the great thing about the MX5 they can be modified to the owners own taste. nice looking car.

My Blue Beauty is allergic to wet, salty roads so will remain cosily cacooned, sucking on her battery conditioner, until the weather improves. Meanwhile, a Merry Mazda Xmas to all fellow club members, especially the great N.S.S crowd :D :D :D :D

Hi, your car looks great. Did North Isla Street Motors do the work. Also did you replace the rear arches.

Hi Brian,
Yes North Isla Motors did the work and they also replaced the wheel arches.
We went down and took the photos during the work.
Cheers, Rick and Julie :D

Rick and Julie, it must have pained you to lose your car for a while, but it was worth it - that's a great paint job.
Cheers

Great looking job :D

It's always good to know places recommended by personal experience. What brought you to use North Isla Motors ?. Were you happy with the work and cost ?

It certainly looks great from the pics.

Can one inquire in the region of how many pennies this all was?

I am going to be up to Stonehaven soon and was going to stop in with the car to get an idea, but looks like pretty much the same needing doing, though I might not extend to a full respray, but all 4 corners at least...

Hi,
It cost 1300 in total which included the cost and fitting of new wheel arches. It also included the fitting of a new front wing which I had already purchased.
It was a full resray and colour change with a clear coating on top.
Cheers, Julie :D
