Life being what it usually is, we may well have Mark to blame for it being a glorious, hot and sunny day!

Welcome on board!

The de-brief

Postby Rostra » Sun Aug 16, 2009 7:17 pm

I am pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the event known henceforth as Arkela's Annual Outing.

Contrary to current (temporary) bylaws, a planning meeting had previously taken place under the direction of our esteemed leader:

Image

Who said that she did not mind, on this occasion, sharing the limelight with some of her fellow offenders:

Image

However this was accepted as being acceptable since nobody can remember what was said.

The convoys duly met at the prearranged RDVs or is that RVZs - Oh - where they were supposed to meet, and followed Arkela on a spirited potter over the moor to Carr Bridge and to Lunch at Aviemore. This was then followed by an even more spirited potter led by Mr Arkela via Nethybridge, Grantown and Knockandoo back to Forres, where tea and - is it bits or pieces?? - errr - cake was consumed and a giggle had by all.

Arkela's neighbours having been told they'd better get used to it, they willingly surrendered their parking spaces on a temporary basis to accommodate the assembled throng:

Image

As the party were about to depart, a shocking discovery was made - ANOTHER planning meeting was being secretly held, but your agent was not able to get proof of the identity of the perpetrators at this time.

Image

To round off the afternoon, the Webster Wand of Excellence was awarded to Janet and John's new (04) Mk whatever it is, as being the most fantabulous delicimous scrumpasmic MX5 ever seen on this planet, or any other for that matter.

Image

Thanks for coming, chaps. I had a great day, hope you did too, and THE SUN SHONE!!!! (well, some of the time.)

See ya later.

Excellent all round, big thanks to all who participated especially Angie & David for excellent organisation and kind hospitality.

As to that second last photo it's impossible to work out who those 3 miscreants were looking at the yellow book of roads to see where they had been and definitely not where they may be going next

Yes, great day today. Thanks to Angie and Dave for organising the route (and to Ian for leading us to and from Forres) and to all participants for the lively banter. The weather god didn't play ball all the time but at least it's pretty quick to erect the hood in a 5!

And the good news is........our cheese has arrived in the north east. Will collect tomorrow and eat it all! To hang with cholesterol!

Great day out, great route, lunch, and good finish inviting us all to your lovely home, with the tea, excellent stickies and hole in ones banter.

Some folks don't understand just HOW much fun we have on Fiver's Outings..... and this was fuelled only by tea and almond slices.

Image

Ah, bless..... Nice to see the old folks still know how to enjoy themselves.

I'm not old, I'm only 22 on the inside!

Just been hill walking this Sat/Sun over at Bridge of Orchy. 8 hour day yesterday for two Munros, Beinn Achaladair and Beinn a' Chreachain. Much shorter today as the weather turned out a little inclement. Blagged permission to take the 4*4 about 3 miles up the glen through c.10 fords so we had a very short walk for the single Munro, Beinn Mhanach.

Yes, that's right Angie. :D

Oops - should have gone to Specsavers! Thought it was me you were describing.

Just what extra ingredient DID you put into those luscious Almond Slices??
Mal hasn't danced like that since I don't know when!
