Postby IanH » Sat Jul 11, 2009 10:57 am

We will have a run in the North of the area kindly organised by Angie and David on Sunday 16th August which may take in some of the Wolf route from last year.

Rendezvous points to be advised in due course, watch all the usual places.

Southern attendees should RV at Morrisons Inverurie at 09:00 for an 09:15 departure, we'll have a run up through some interesting bits in time to RV at Tesco in Forres for an 11:00 departure afterwards.

Details of the Forres and on meander to follow.

It may be a wee bit early to be asking this but.... would the route to Forres pass anywhere near Buckie?!! Keith maybe? Well, perhaps not Keith if, like us, you prefer to stay away from the main roads and the A96 in particular!! Looking forward to the run, wherever we meet up! :D

Here we are folks: ARKELA'S OUTING

Easters meet at Inverurie, and Ian will lead you over to Forres where we will meet up with Northers from Inverness etc in the Tesco car park.

From there we are going Forres/Logie/Ferness/Dava Moor/CarrBridge/Aviemore for lunch.

then Aviemore/Inverdruie/Nethybridge/Grantown/Knockando/Dallas/Rufford/My house in Forres for Tea.

After all my discussion with Ian about whether you should lead a run as fast as you can, or at a speed which is comfortable for everybody (guess which side I am on) and remembering the Wolf from last year, this will be known as Arkela's Outing!

So we keep up with numbers (I might have to buy some more tea mugs) I'm doing a rolling list for this one. If you are joining us please copy the list and paste it into your post, adding your own name at the bottom. I'll start with those who have told me they are coming along:

Rostra : Angie and Dave
IanH: Ian and Diane
Highlander: Kenny and Debra
Liathach: M & M
Helen: Helen
Rugger: Andy and Margaret
Brackensmum: Marty

over to you ........

No worries Angie. I am just pleased that folk are prepared to organise these runs. I have been organising a hill walking group (as a benign dictatorship!) since 1981 so I know the effort required.

As a former cub scout, should that not be Akela, "the great gray Lone Wolf, who led all the Pack" (Jungle Book)? :)
Cheers

That sounds like me, and never having been a cub scout I have every confidence you know better than I about the spelling. Duly noted. I did google it to try and check but there must be loads of other folk who can't spell it either

Deputy Boss, please note for amendment.

Shall we put you on the list? Ask Ian about the route from Inverurie, but I believe they are going through via Alford, Dufftown, Craiellachie, Rothes and Elgin, then onto the 96 to Forres.

You can always form a Monvoy and come direct to Forres - or maybe if PaulDS is coming - he's from your part of the woods.
