Callander Classic 27/28th August 2005

Postby Richardn » Wed May 25, 2005 10:45 am

Now is the time to book your place with Douglas and your B&B in Callander.

A deposit is needed ASAP to book a good stand site.

Have organised a Marquee again, so another quiet evening

I now have the entry plaques for Callander, will give out remaining ones to those attending 3 Peaks event this weekend or Pub Meet on 25th, failing that will meet up in Callander on the Saturday Morning before going into the Rally field.

If your not displaying your car and would like to join us on the Saturday for a Lunch/Run, let me know. If your attending on the Sunday as a spectator please drop by and say hello.

We are able to offer a special 'show only' discounted membership to anyone attending Callander Classics, cost is ?25.00 (normally ?30.00)

Can any one suggest the best day to go Saturday or Sunday :?: I would like a rummage in the Auto jumble before all the bargains have gone (need some bits for the old Capri) Image

but it looks like most of the show cars will be out and on runs on Saturday  .

Ideally I would love to go on both days but due to other commitments I can only make it on one so any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm still on the look out for a cheap 5 if anyone knows of a ruff or damged example going cheap let me know.

Cheers.

Skarecrow29...Sunday is the best day to go to Callander, more traders will be set up.

Also if your not going already with Capri O.C. this Sunday at Hamilton, The Chatelherault Classic Car Show.

A few things to keep you updated.
Each year the organisers of the Callander Classics Show invite Clubs on a rotational system, to present within their enclosure a six car special display, this year we have been accepted as one of those Clubs and the organisers will provide decorative barriers to enhance the display.
The next question is which cars to put on this display...it could be you!!
Please bring along your usual cleaning and polishing products and we'll all muck in to get all 22 cars looking good for Sunday.

Programme of Events edited:-
Saturday
10.00am Rendezvous for Convoy Drive.
11.00am Prompt depart for Classic Convoy Drive to Loch Tummel.
11.30-2.00pm Team Driving Challenge Practise.
2.00-3.00pm Auction of Spare Parts & Accessories.
3.00-3.30pm Classic &Sports Car Sale Arena Parade.
4.00pm Singles Driving Challenge.

Sunday
10.00am Public Gate Opens.
11.00am Callander Classic Concours Judging.
11.00am Inter Club Driving Challenge Main Arena.
12.30pm Callander Street Parade.
2.15pm Classic & Sports Car Auction.
3.30pm Finals of Inter Club Driving Challenge.
4.00pm Arena Parade.
4.30pm Award Presentations.

Would like to see some of our cars in the Parade this year, and perhaps the Driving Challenge... could be fun.
All in all it should be another great weekend.

Thanks to everyone for sending their car details and mods.

If you don't have your plaque yet, you will be able to collect it from Sandy on Friday night at Poppies or Saturday morning up to 10.30am, at Richards, failing that... call me and someone will meet you at the Entrance.

Remember to bring something to sit on for the weekend. If anyone has a small fold up table and has the room to bring it, that would be appreciated. Would also suggest a few empty plastic bottles, these could be filled with water before coming on site and would assist in cleaning the cars.

Unfortunately we have had to call off from Callendar weekend

Hope you all have a great time and the weather holds up

Was not just the Gazebo that was flying last year Dot - you seemed to be in similar condition the last I saw of you at Richards

Regards
