MAX5 Racing at Knockhill 4/5 June 05

.... for those that enjoy 'tracking' their car.

I forgot to mention FOUR abreast into the hairpin!! (It was also pretty funny to see Eilidh leaping up and down shouting "Daddy's car! Daddy's car!")

Yes as Graeme rightly said , this was top notch entertainment, despite the usual Knockhill micro climate trying to spoil things, those Mx-5's really won everyone over with their performance.

Only 8 cars there today, hoping for a better turnout tomorrow.
Anyone travelling from the west via A80 onto the M876, please note the on ramp is closed (just past Banknock exit after arches) and diversion is off at Stirling services onto M9 then M876 for Kincardine Bridge, might be worth allowing a little extra time. Road is ok for coming home.

Meeting place and time same as today. Powmill Milk Bar 12.30.

Ouch  I don't think a miracle could be worked overnight on that one 12:30 seems a bit late to go up to Knockhill. What's happening in the morning :?:

Practice laps are something like 8.30.
We arrived at midday today and had missed 1 race. There was an hour's break for lunch then the Legends (to the sound of "Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top), which are mini loonies followed by the MAX 5 series with 28 cars on the grid which really impressed the commentators (not as much as the 10 laps before the red flag did though).

You go early if you want Gavin, your just down the road, looks like it will be a long day again tomorrow, we were there until six o clock today, only left then because they cancelled the last few races, had been lots of delays because of the weather.

calling card

Postby Gavin-G » Sun Jun 05, 2005 9:59 pm

Hi 2 all,
I was at knockhill today and drove in with 3 other mx5's in front of me,I parked along side of them left the car ,came back a few minutes later and what was on the windscreen!!!!!!!,an mx5's owners club calling card. I thought my luck was in, and it was the Real radio fugitive. No such luck ,so I been browsing through your site, interesting.I have a mk1 1997 BRG Monza ( and I do wave, sometimes) Im not one for clubs, but this site looks quite good (I will think about it). Printed off the application form.
