Wigton Speed Scholarship - WORTH £450!!!!!

If you've been thinking you'd like to have a go at competitive motorsport but you've been put off by the costs, here's a deal you can't ignore.

Speed events (speed hill climbs and sprints) are some of the most exciting events you can take part and you can use just about any type of car from a standard road car to a F1 type single seater!

In order to introduce more people to speed events Wigton Motor Club is again running it’s popular Novice Scholarship which has brought many new competitors into the sport in recent years. The scholarship is worth around £450 to each driver.

The Novice Scholarship is open to up to 6 people who have not previously held an MSA Competition Licence.

Applications for the scholarship must be submitted by February 20th.

A sub committee will select the six winners. Applicants may be asked to meet informally with the sub committee.

The 6 Scholarship winners will receive an MSA approved race suit, free test day and tuition, mentoring during the year, half price entry fees to the first three WMC sprints in the TJ Services Northern Speed Championship and a free entry to the final sprint of the year if they have competed in the previous three events.

The drivers will have to provide their own MSA approved helmet, MSA competition licence and WMC membership and provide a £100 deposit to the Club. This will be returned at the end of the year if all four events have been completed.

The most promising novice will receive an award at the 2009 Annual Awards Dinner.
