Puddle Jump to Peebles Run...

Postby DouglasH » Sun Dec 30, 2007 2:15 pm

...On 2nd January.
New menu has been added to the Events Section.
Organisers Colin and John were concerned that the original menu was a bit too Christmassy for the New Year Run and therefore have negotiated a much more traditional Menu.
Hope we get a good turnout for this one as both Colin and John have put in a fair amount of planning, even as I write this they are doing a final recce. (Or looking for more puddles  )

Recce done :D

Couple of notes to add to the route - weather always takes its toll on the roads at this time of year but as long as we drive with caution there should be no problems.

Good to see the Steak Pie back........I'm try to cut down on my Pheasant intake next year !!!!!!

See you there

Forgot to say.....I will hand out a copy of the route we are taking once we meet at the Newhouse.

Its pretty simple, roughtly 45 miles, Lunch, then about 31 miles, ending at Lanark Loch

Some nice views and its looking like not bad weather at this stage, here's hoping.

So who are the diehards who like to drive their cars and are not just part-timers who wheel them out in the summer ???????????

Another change to the menu and venue, the Park Hotel have reneged on the deal and wanted us to take the Christmas menu again. John and Colin have however arranged an alternative venue and better menu, in the Castle Venlaw Hotel Peebles, See Events section.
We may possibly have a restriction on seating numbers, won't know for sure until Wednesday morning when we phone the Hotel before leaving Newhouse.

Hope you all have a great day tomorrow.
Sincerely, I tip my hat at all involved in the organisation.
I was "twitchy" just setting up wee 6 car jaunt where everyone knew where they were going. You feel..and you are...responsible.
They knew the roads better than I, ..they could well have done it without me anyway. Doing something like The Gathering?...Ye Gods...no thanks!
So, well done you lot...I'm sure it will be appreciated by all who join you.
Wish I could be there, but shift commences 3pm...sharp!
Must go and do dinner for the Monster in Law.
