Moving to Nairn in the New Year ! Anyone else nearby ?

Postby jalane4 » Sun Dec 02, 2007 8:16 pm

Hi there

I and the family moving to Nairn at end of December - just in time for the New Year! I have a 1991 red MX5 that I call Poppy and my hubby has a Westfield cosworth turbo.

Unfortunately Poppy is looking a little battered at the moment having had some "nasty person" break in by using a knife over the roof and taking the radio. After living in Bradford for 16 years, all our cars have had some sort of break in or stolen!

One question is - is there anyone local able to replace a roof?

The other is - is there anything happening in the area ? Meet ups etc.

Can't wait to be there - the roads we have seen so far, look brilliant.

Hi Jalene, welcome to North Scotland. Lorraine "The Pram" is your Area Coordinator (North Scotland East) - daresay she'll be along shortly.

Dot's right: Richard is the best roof man you should consider - something of a guru in these parts!

See you on a run soon.
Cheers

Hi Colin, I could have sworn that IV postcodes come under North Scotland North :-)

Hi Jalene, welcome to the North of Scotland. Linda and I live about 64 miles North of Nairn by road, but on a good day we can see Nairn from Golspie. We would be very happy to take you for a run around the area North and West of Nairn. Lots of really good roads that are great for MX5s and Westfields.

Wow, what a wonderful welcome from you guys. Thank you !

For those of you who have mentioned my hubby's car (hopefully) I have managed to include a pic of it ! If it doesnt work, well, I'm sure that you will see it around the area - he can't wait to get there either.

:offtopic: I stand corrected, Sir!

Didn't realise Nairn came under IV - it must be pretty close to the boundary given some of Lorraine's members live pretty close.

Welcome to the area, great MX5 friendly roads especially if you head west from Nairn and past Inverness, or north of Inverness, oh and south as well :D Even if we can't say the same about the weather :? You'll get hardened to the wind burn on the face fairly soon though

I'm also an IV post code but Lorraine is my AC. I think if I move a bit to the right I become AB :)

Hi there. Welcome to the Mx5 community.

I'm sure Poppy and your hubby's Westfield will be much admired up in Nairn. Is he in to trackdays?

Interesting - Keith just 8 miles from Fochabers is AB.

Guess that tells us where the boundary is between North Scotland East and North! :D
