Just wondered if there was any chance of some MX-5 competition?
There's several venues in Scotland including: Kames, Forrestburn, Doune, Alford, Golspie, Fintry, Boyndie and Lossiemouth.
Looks like there won't be a sprint at Knockhill next year but there's going to be a double header at East Fortune in May.
Costs are around £60 per event (£35 for novices at Wigton MC events) and you don't need to do anything special to your car - you just need a timing strut (which I can help you with) and some yellow tape for your battery (which Douglas can source

You will need to have the following:
MSA licence (£36)
Overalls (£70)
Helmet (£70+)
Scottish MSA club membership (£10-£20)
I'll be concentrating on events north of the Border to keep my travelling costs to a minimum. In theory, this means I should be able to do more events.

If you're worried about damaging your pride and joy, that's understandable but my view is that it's probably safer than your average trackday because you only have to worry about yourself. There's no other drivers to push you off line, crash into you or cut you up.
So, come on - have a go at the oldest and (in my view), purest form of motorsport.

If anyone is interested and has any questions - just ask here or PM me. I put off getting into this for 5 years because I wasn't sure about how to fit a timing strut (DOH!).
