Bluddy foreigner joins

Postby The Mailman » Tue Nov 06, 2007 6:48 pm

Hi,

Just introduced myself on the UK forum:
http://www.mx5ocforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=56386

but a dedicated Scottish forum might be nicer to hang about on :D

Cheers,
Jasper

I'm from what used to be a village between Rotterdam and Den Haag. What job brings you to Eindhoven? And i heard many times that learning Dutch is difficult because most Dutch folk start speaking English to foreigners even when they try to speak Dutch

I'm in Eindhoven around 1-2 times a month.

I'm an account manager (electronics) and Philips is my customer.

Also have a few friends around NL - Amstelveen & Den Bosch amongst others.

I think everyone in Eindhoven speaks English (just as well really :? ) - bars, hotels, shops, taxis. Even in the snack kiosk in the railway station.

Philips, why did i think that would be it (Eindhoven is nicknamed 'Philips city'). Yeah, just about everyone in Holland under 60 speaks English and they are all too willing to do it (show-offs maybe  )
