This post on the main MX5 Owners Club forum pretty much covers what you need to do :

http://www.mx5ocforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=14898

If you've got any questions after reading that just post them here.

Cheers,

Use the image tags [img] copy and paste the url in here (the bit that starts with http:// etc) and then close the tags at the other end with [ /img] just without the space :)

Its easy when you know how! 8)

I use photobucket to upload my pics to then when adding to or writing a thread here I just copy the "img code" from the pic at photobucket I want then paste it into the thread. Nice and simple. Sure you will get the hang of it.

As an option to photobucket and imageshack without any advertising and loads of storage Picasa from those nice people at Google is a good choice IMHO. You can link and/or embed as below 8)

Anyway last post from me for a while as heading off to the sun this afternoon (hopefully).

What bit are you having difficulty with?

Have you managed to upload the image on to a server somewhere yet?

Thanks everyone for the encouragement and help!!!

Si, I have opened an account with photobucket and I have downloaded a couple of pictures. It's the transferring them over to this site that's proving illusive. I can even identify the IMG thingy Findlay has told me about.

I'm usually not too bad with this kind of thing but I'm stumped!

If you use the preview feature when you're writing a post, can you see your image in it, or just the code?

My random thought is that the [IMG] thingy should be in CAPITALS and your's is in lower case, did you do a straight copy and paste from Image bucket?

Nice one!

The avatar photo needs to be a certain size I think, 100x100 pixels, it's been ages since I did mine so I'm not entirely sure.

You can set the avatar up in your user profile page.

Not a meaningful error message I know, but it's probably because the image you are trying to upload is too large.

Do you know the filesize of the image?
