Postby Almac » Fri Feb 25, 2005 12:22 pm

Last night I spotted what I thought was a cracker of a plate on an MX although suspect would only be appreciated by MX owners. M14ATA....Miata. Could not help smiling. :D :D Superb. Can't get much better than that. Club member :?: Many members into pers plates??

Just my initials, apparently I have to compensate for having a small willy. I must say I do like the MXM, MXV type plates, they just look as if they shouldn't be anywhere else but on a 5.

I bought a personal plate mainly because I hated the old one, and not particularly because I had any desire to fork out money :) The old one was P7xx BLJ ...... too much like Jow Blob for my liking, and with it being a hairdressers car I didn't want any more excuses for smart comments.

The plate on it now was bought for the car and I also think it looks a wee bit better than the old one as well.

Each to their own though.

I've seen two good plates in this country :

5 MX : that was either a show car, or salesrep car, McKay Mazda had for a while .... a 10AE originally, then it was moved to something else.

E111 NOS : Ok, there's an extra 1 in there, and there was a dot to make the two ones look like a U, but I liked it. Sure I saw this on a car nr Perth.

..... and in the internet I've seen a car in the states with the plate :

NO KIDZ

:D

I'm not a fan of personal plates, but the best I heard of was a white Rolls Royce in the Home Counties with the reg 60D.
So now you know what car HE drives ;-)

my plate has the letters FOS which friends were quick to point out could easily stand for Full Of Something !

it's always fun when giving the reg over the phone - Foxtrot Oscar generally sums up my sentiments when dealing with insurers etc !

B4 RBR - "Barber". That's the one I want. If people insist on calling my '5' a hairdressers car I might as well get the plate. The DVLA have it available, but I've not been brave/rich enough yet!
MX5 1.8iS MkII - the only car I need

The plate on my written off Monza was P942ERS. I spent two years with my mates, an occasionally complete strangers telling me my plate looked like the word 'poofters' from a distance...........

As my second name is Deazeley, i've been trying to locate the plate D342LEY, i've contacted the DVLA and they've confirmed that it is not currently registered....... no doube now they know they've got a buyer they'll inflate the price for auction....... :(

Aw well......

A number of years ago, I had a boss who had the plate 1 UP U. It was on a Rolls so it looked even better.
Also another plate in Balloch always thought to be "the Boss's" wife was
UP U 2.
I know it is a tad anal but I think private plates look good. Mine has a single digit and my initials which I think looks better on the car but again all personal stuff.
