***
Dear MX-5 and Miata enthusiasts,

We have sent out the invitations for our 5 Years Anniversary Party: the
Zuyderzee Run,that we will have at the Easter weekend next year (March
25-28, 2005) in The Netherlands.

Meanwhile we have received the registrations of Miata and MX-5 enthusiasts
from The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, and even from
Greece and the United States!

The Anniversary Eventcommittee is working hard on the final details to make
this a great and successful event, and with all the international attendees
it will become a true unforgettable MX-5 experience!

The further details of the Zuyderzee Run, and the registration form, can be
found at:
http://www.mx-5owners.nl/anniversary

I would like to remind you of our Registration Deadline, which is July 1st,
2004 (ie later this week!). It *might* be possible to register at a later
date, but the hotel room assignment will then be on the basis of
availability, so we cannot guarantee a room after July 1st (although we
will of course work on it - the more enthusiasts, the better, it's our
Birthday and we want you to be at our Party!)

Any questions, let me know,
and hope to see you at our Zuyderzee in 2005!

Petra van den Berge

PS You definitely want to be there, but are not 100% sure you can? Then
please do register, just to secure your room; you could cancel your
registration without a cancellation fee, until Dec 31 2004!

I think Jim / JML on this forum from Renfrewshire wants to go also, he has posted on National Forum about same.

I would love to do this trip, worried I might not get the time off as its a bit more than just three days that would be needed.

Grouse..still to price this option but methinks Hull to Rotterdam may be less expensive and more suitable.

We'll go with the flow!
But, I can't think that sailing out of Hull would compare with sailing out of Edinburgh under "the bridges" - do you?

Hopefully at last we are back on line with the forum as it has ben frustrating reading the postings but not being able to reply.
Holland at easter sounds good and under the bridges is as good a send off point as there could be - one thought however before we all decide on holland is that this years easter trip was , we think, excellent for all who took part so maybe a thought as to whether more members would prefer a scotland weekend than one in europe - apart from that we are for joining in the european excursion

Douglas/Chic & Heather,

I faxed my details this afternoon. I have requested the extra night on the Monday because it might be tight to get the return ferry in the afternoon. There are 3 Northern routes to the Netherlands, Rosyth (Not Edinburgh Grouse  ) to Zeebrugge, North Shields to Amsterdam and Hull to Rotterdam. I believe Hull to Rotterdam may well be the cheapest. I guess a bit of web surfing is required.

Hi Gav!
I know it's Rosyth - I only said Edinburgh 'cos I wouldn't presume upon everyone's geography ........!?
Don't fancy the run to/from Hull - been there many times.
Anyway, I've booked the Monday as well! :D

John..Register now, beware Bank will charge you ?25.00 to transfer deposit so best to fax or e-mail details.

Jim and myself are planning to come home on the Monday evening Ferry, plenty of time to book ferry yet as some don't even have 2005 on their booking info. When you find out how much Rosyth costs you will probably agree Newcastle is a better bet and there may be a discount if others from North England are going too.

Douglas
Monday night return ferry would suit us fine as well as it means we do not have to negotiate another day off work from your employer 8) - that probably applies to ours as well

Hi all, as Douglas said, I have registered for this.

Loads of time to sort out ferries, timetables/prices aren't even announced for next year.

Main options are as Douglas said -

Rosyth - Zeb. (17 hrs ?)

Newcastle -Ijmuden (14 hrs)

Hull -Rotterdam

or further south

Harwich- Hook (6-7 hrs)

or even further south and take a short crossing followed by a quick blast through Belgium..........

I have checked Rosyth prices before and they are ???????, probably either Hull or Newcastle will be the best compromise.

DFDs (Newcastle) generally want 10 cars for a group booking I think.
I have number somewhere for Motorsport travel who got a group deal for the midnght sun trip a few years back, I'll see if I can find it.

Just to complicate it further I think I may have friends going from down sarf ,but they might drive north for the ferry - plenty time for dinner and a few beers if you do it this way
