CD Player For O5 Plate MX5 Mk2.5

Postby hubba64 » Sat Jun 16, 2007 6:18 pm

Caught sight of this advert on EBay today.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :middle:uk

Does anyone know if this would fit an 05 plate mk2.5 which has as original equipment a radio with a tape deck combined below it....approximately double the depth of a standard head unit.

Alternatively, what is the best way to go about fitting a cd player to this car......is there an adaptor unit you have to get to take up the remaining space if you fit an aftermarket cd head unit?

My mk 2.5 has radio, tape and CD in 1 unit, I thought all Mazda's after a certain year do ??

I think if you want to change it there is a kit on mx5 parts.

Beginning to doubt ourselves now...is there a CD slot lurking in there all along?...................to be continued!

Hi Jo - thanks for that, we r pulling our hair out cos on the advert for the car it states radio/cassette - and we can't remember if there was a slot for the cd or not, but there was definately a button for a cd!! Guy thinks that might be for an optional cd changer, as long as I can play my ipod through the radio I am happy!!

Hi Kim. It's probably better contacting the people advertising it to ask then as it could be it's not standard but an additional option you could have added when buying new. In saying that, mines is not that hot, sound is very tinny but may just need new speakers. Are you thinking about going for it then?
