For the ones that can leave in the morning, how about meeting at Peebles Riverside Car Park (over the bridge, on the left) round about 11.30 ish, then head off, working our way down on B6357 to Saughtree, thru Kielder to Bellingham, stopping for lunch somewhere in between. Continue on B6320 to meet up with the A69, John & Heather who are leaving later and taking a direct route via M74/A69 will meet up with us near here.
If time permits a route further south and east should bring us out at The Angel of the North for a photo opportunity, then North on the A1 for a few miles to the Hotel.

Does this sounds ok.

Rob & Margaret, Colin & Claire...we will meet you somewhere between Newhouse and Carluke about 10am. pm me for suggestion.

edit...think I was writing this at the same time as you Ian although the clock is out.

If you are travelling down any of the East Coast roads to Newcastle watch out for Speed camera's. You could lose your licence between Edinburgh and Newcastle. :x

there are no fixed speed cameras in county durham but they spent the budget on more mobile units - look out !

the A68 is a good road (great hairpins at the border and crazy blind summits on the way to corbridge) as long as you don't get stuck behind something slow moving - i once got delayed behind a low loader moving an army tank to otterburn camp.

Was hoping to meet convoy on Friday but unlikely to make Peebles deadline.

We'll see you down there
