The obvious way for you to go from Hamilton will be down the A77 but if you went right down the M8 to Greenock you could take in all of the coast road between there and Troon. Maybe return by A77?
You might want to take in the Lyle Hill in Greenock with spectacular views over to Argyll.

Portencross about 7 miles beyond Largs is a good stopping off point.
Being Easter sunday, the coast road is likely to be very busy.
If you're interested, PM me and I'll give you more detailed routeings.

I live in Troon :-)

If I can't get my car sorted, I'll probably be in all day, you're welcome to pop in for a coffee. If I get it going, I'll be off down the coast with Shaun and Co.

Gordon, Gavin has just told me he cannot get the day off tomorrow, so if you can stand an Auto, I would be happy to pick you up?

The cooling pipe broke that emerges from the water pump inlet cover. This is held on by 2 bolts. The lower one came straight off, the upper one is seized solid :-(

If I can't shift it then the car will need to be towed to the garage on Tuesday for them to drill it out and tap a new one :-(

I've just got a heat torch and a new mole grip, so I'm just going to have another go at the little scunner...

Robin, thanks for the offer, but I'll probably keep fighting the car if I can't get it done today though :-)
