Glendevon road - Dollar to Gleneagles

Postby sgibson » Wed Jan 31, 2007 10:28 pm

This road is fantastic - driving up over the hills, there are a number of large impressive dams to see as well. Midway on the journey, you pass through the tiny village of Glendevon where you can stop at the Inn.

Past the high point of the Ochil Hills, the road begins to twist down towards Gleneagles, which opens out in front of you.

Journey time 20 mins, needless to say it's full of great bends and a much more enjoyable than the A9

I would love to live in that house! I was going to take a 'patina' shot, but the mad dog at the window started barking at me, so i scarpered!

Patina is like weathering etc...

You probably aren't familiar with the term 'patina shot' because I just made it up! :D

re gleneagles to dollar

Postby gilly » Sun Feb 11, 2007 7:35 pm

Got to agree this is a crackin road any time of year-I live near Dollar and often go for a drive along it just to annoy people who don't have the pleasure of open top motoring!

This one of my favourite roads.

The very first day I got my new MX5 I took it along this road to have some fun. I've driven on this road hundreds of times on bikes and cars and always have a large grin on my fase at the end.

I fancy a shot on this road!

Is it just a matter of driving to Dollar and looking for a Glendevon/Gleneagles sign? If anyone knows the road name, that would be useful!
Cheers

Hi Colin, actually, you drove along this road on one of the North of Scotland runs we did a few years ago, but in reverse. Or maybe that was the run you missed out on. I can send you the route for future reference just in case you want to do that route for an organised run.
