Knockhill Track Night 2007

Knockhill Track Night 2007

Postby DouglasH » Tue Jan 09, 2007 6:44 pm

Date now changed to 1st June (instead of 8th)
In Aug/Sept last year I provisionally booked the Track Night for 8th June, I was told to call back in the new year to firm up booking and arrange for deposit to be made, it was indicated to me that bookings could not be made until the turn of the year, however we would have first shout of that date. I called Knockhill today only to be told that the Ducati MC club had not only booked it for the 8th but paid deposit in November. As if that wasn't bad enough they then informed me that there were no Friday nights left for the year, of course I protested as firmly as possible, only last year Knockhill staff told me they were using our organising, payment and collection of both deposit and balance as a role model to other clubs.
Anyway I received a call later in the day to say they can give us the 1st of June. I hope this date meets with your approval and you can still make it.
Cost this year is £1645 (inc vat) for the two hours. A 25% deposit of £411.25 has to be paid by early February. So over the next couple of weeks I will be collecting full payment from 8 early birds wishing to secure their place. Will let you know over the next couple of days how much per head, should be the same as last year £55.00
Please make cheques payable to 'Knockhill Racing Circuit'

Douglas,
You can count on me for this.
PM me with address and I'll send cheque by return.

I've tried to drum up some interest with the West London guys but I'm not sure they'll be coming up this year.

Cheers,

Is there still spaces left?

I know you said in the last thread that people would need to be considered for a space on the night and I understand with my age I may not be in the line up this year.....but my uncle has an Elise and was hoping to come along also after I told him how well organized it was and no nutters were allowed!

If this is possible I will let him know dates and prices and you will recieve a cheque from us both!

P.S. If you prefer to keep it off the forum just PM me douglas :)

Thanks everyone for your support, if you could send (or give) your cheques to the value of £55.00 to me (pm me for address) I'll submit 8 inc my own as deposit, it looks as if I should get more than 8, so will take into consideration those randomly picked last year for deposit, I realise its not a good time of year to be asking for money.

I'm also trying to get a discount fixed up for the Track 1:1 sessions, this would be a natural progression from the Track Beginners class, which we could also arrange again if the interest was there.

Your on the list Mike, its your uncle we need to worry about
no seriously, as of last year would like to make it as many fives as possible, so if your uncle wouldn't be offended could we make him first reserve.

Just to explain how this works...
The total for the Track Night per car is £55.00. Knockhill require a 25% deposit within 30 days of booking and full balance 30 days before the event. I adopt a no nonsense approach to collecting this, so no mucking about with deposits, I require full payment cheque asap to book your place, 8 of the early payer cheques are randomly picked to make up the deposit, the rest are kept until May then submitted with all the other cheques. I can tell you the first year of doing this was pretty stressfull for various reasons but I don't do stress anymore and we now, partly due to the success of this event, seem to be in the position that there should be enough interest to get the full 30 Mx-5' participants.

One of the pleasing aspects of last years event was the inclusion of other family members by those participating, whether it was getting passenger rides or just spectating in the pits, with this in mind I would like not only to repeat this but try to add other attractions, I spoke to Knockhill about the possibility of having the Go-Karts available, if you have any thoughts on this please get in touch.

Lastly and your probably going to be sick of hearing this from me....
THIS IS NOT A RACE EVENT IT IS A TRACK NIGHT TO ALLOW MEMBERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENJOY THEIR CARS ON A TRACK ENVIRONMENT.
