Mystery Run

Postby CharlesK » Sat Sep 18, 2004 1:06 pm

Douglas

Certainly a mystery to me - rushed off to Eskbank to order lunch then back to Newbridge but obviously took a wrong turning at Edinburgh Airport as I am now in Changi Singapore on route to the Cook Is - Hope all the old gits have a good run
See you all at Spittal

Could kick myself did not get on this run - v much wanted to go and as bonus could tell it was likely to be nice handy area (unlike Glenshee) - but had long-planned dinner for 6 to cook night before and suicidally made killer (delicious!) cocktails before it (made using local elderflower bubbly from Weston Park Rally!) but the rest of the ingredients turned Sunday from just mild hangover territory into total no-go area  Glad you all enjoyed it, would love to know more details of route so that those of us who didn't go can try it! :D

Kind of thought you might be there Liz, as it was in your area, went into the Samye- Ling Temple on the way back.. astounding and peaceful are the only words I can think of to describe it.

Douglas -
Samye-ling would probably have been the perfect place to repent and contemplate the damages from the night before, and meditate on new mantra like "I am too old to drink and still be OK to drive in the morning" Will have to get in training for any future pre-drive nights! (ie no drinking so I can still make the team  )
Liz (OK what do you think Andy's mantra will be then, team .. )
