Newbie advice?

Postby -- » Sat Aug 12, 2006 1:25 pm

I have just purchased an Ice blue 1.8 sport at 45000 miles. :D Is any benefit in changing the gearbox & LSD lubes with known specialist oils or do I leave well alone?. Also, the front tow hooks are the only real blemish. I was thinking of gentle sanding down and a coat of Hammerite unless someone feels there is a better solution. Thanks in anticipation.

Well done and welcome to the forum young man.

Don't have a clue about all the stuff you are talking about.....
All you have to do is take the pedal which is furthest right...
and nail it to the floor.......enjoy :)

best of luck out there.

Won't do any harm changing oils.

Tow hooks/tie downs. Either clean up and paint or remove completely
Mk3 2.0 sport & Mk1 California 217/300
