MX5 hasn't bee used much so went to start it and the battery was completely flat.

jumped it and through I better go for a good drive to charge it up, a bit dark but hey ho.

went from east kilbride, to strathaven, to swinhill, to happingdon via the B7078 (excellent road), then to muirkirk along the a70 (another excellent twisty road) then back up to strathaven via the B743 which has recently been resurfaced in part, and is an excellent drive on it's own.

a Thoroughly good night time drive, and not a dear/badger/sheep in sight....

i'd recommend it so here it is on google maps.

A cracking drive indeed, but pity you had to hit the A71. Not a great road at the best of times.

Wasn't there a lot of surface water tonight, or was it ok?

surface water was ok, was a bit bad on the a70. A71 is not bad further up towards shotts.
