I drove across to Plockton on Friday to have a night out with my biker chums. Great fun trying to keep up with the bikes.

The rain did give me an advantage.

That's a great route and one I've done a few times now. I make a point now of not taking pic of that damn castle though

Fantastic route, and one I was one just over a week ago. Wasn't in the 5, but even in a 1.4 Civic it's a great drive :)

Nice pic of car and castle!

That photo shows a BIG car and a wee castle - guess the photographer must have posed the shot :) :)

I may have posted this before, so apologies if I have.

Wee anecdote from Eilean Donan :

A few of us up in the MX's - paying in the visitor centre the man behind the desk says "And there's a bloke in the Castle you can ask anything you want"

Eventually the bloke is encountered, and proves to be very knowledgeable and interesting about the castle ....

But we could ask him anything !!

"What's the atomic weight of Strontium?" asks Scott .

"Not sure" he replies ..... "But it's a mineral that was discovered in Strontian in Scotland, oxidises rapidly when exposed to air, and is used in fireworks to produce a bright red colour"

 We looked it up when we got home - and he was spot on  :D

Seen him on the telly since - on Coast, explaining the importance of the mapping of the isles.

Big respect :D

Nice run Malc, starting to feel jealous now ....

I know what you mean Paul; I guess the fact that we can take glorious sights like that for granted shows just how darned lucky we are to be in such a great country with such a great car!

You should have come for a run with me.

You wouldn't have the problems you are now lumbered with.

Fair point Malc - I know the roads you went on pretty well ... so know you must have had a great run.

Mind you, I did have a great trip up through the hills from Dundee to Keith a couple of days ago. I think it was you who said you were a bit bored of the Cairn O'Mount, but as a commuter route for me to get to my lady it takes some beating!
Cheers
