Google mapped Applecross Road and it came up with a housing estate in Kirkintilloch ... either you're easily pleased or you mean the road to Applecross near Plockton, in which case I concur!

I know everyone raves about it - but it's too narrow to get up any speed and it's got lots of potholes and worst of all it's covered in sheepshit.

The scenery is spectacular though and it's possibly the nearest thing we have to an Alpine pass.Image

We agree with all thats been said !! we along with members of Cheshire North Wales went over it during our trip to Skye in May this year.
Alex went up a ways to take photo's of the cars going up and after allowing him time to find a suitable position jen and I were off, she took the attached video from the passenger ,holding the camera as we went,at speed up the pass.
Once home i edited/slpiced it and the added the sound track (btw it is "On the road again by Canned heat
Enjoy it all who went up on the day sure did.

Love it Tom. Brings some good memories of my own jaunts in that direction.

You've adopted a cavalier attitude these days Malcolm. This from the man who historically wouldn't come out to play if it was going to be wet. :)

Nice footage by the way Tom, first time I've seen it. Would've preferred you to have left in your colourful remonstrations with the driver of the motorhome. Particularly liked the rather handsome individual taking photies of you on the way up...oh aye...me! :)

Alex.

Can anyone show me where this road is on google maps? It looks like a good place to go for a day out in the car.
