hood repair

Postby Ronnie » Mon Aug 08, 2005 2:57 pm

Can any of you guys help with some information? I have a small 1/2 inch tear to my hood just at the bottom near the rain rail at the nearside door window.  Is it possible to repair it? Can I buy a repair kit? or is it a new hood?

Thanks
Ronnie :D

Hood Repair

Postby Zoom Zoom » Mon Aug 08, 2005 3:49 pm

I believe this is very common - I have a small tear just above the drivers door too. I have not yet found an answer, and have nearly consigned myself to having to buy a new hood at some point. Anyone help?

I'm wondering if gaffa tape would be suitable for small tears and as it comes in a multitude of colours it might just make an ideal but cheap repair . Richard could probably advise on this . Anyway check out this site : http://www.indigoshop.co.uk/cat--Cloth-Tape--cloth-tape

It is very common and showing the hood is on it's way.

However don't worry too much as the leak drips directly into the drain.

It is not easy to repair as it folds tigfhtly when the hood is down
