Fresh Air Vent

Postby chasbroon » Thu Sep 20, 2007 4:26 pm

I have a Mark 2.5 and was fed up with the muck and dust fired up by the vents in the front wheel arch liners into the engine bay. My solution was to clean off the wheel inner liners around the vent holes then plaster sticky underseal all over them, before it dried I placed a retangle of kitchen foil over it then repeated the process again with another layer finally finishing off with underseal. This has been on since April without any problems and is invisible without the closest scrutiny. I went to France, Italy and Switzerland in the spring (5,200 Miles) without any problems of over heating even although it was hot enough in Provence for the Waxoil to drip out of my sill drain holes ! The engine bay now remains clean.
