New XENON Headlight bulbs?

Postby Tnorris » Mon Nov 15, 2004 4:12 pm

Hi,

Just bought a pair of .... 5800K MAZDA MX5 91-01 XENON HEADLAMPS BULBS, anybody any experience of these replacement bulbs?

Is it a simple job on the MX5 to replace bulbs? - any tips?

Thanks

Changing the bulb on a mk1 is simple enough, just pop up the lights and unscrew the black shroud. But watch you don't drop the screws (as I did) or you may need a small (female or child) hand to retrieve them from the nose cone.
Please let me know what the new bulbs are like as the lights on one of my MX5s are rubbish - stangely the lights on the other one (both Mk1s) are fine.

Sorry can't help with a Mk2 but I would guess it will be fairly easy. Most modern units simply have a connector / bulb mount which you turn and then pull out from the back of the light. Good luck.
