Plastic bumper repairs

Postby grouse » Mon Oct 11, 2004 4:37 pm

Need to know if dents etc can be removed from plastic bumpers?
Not the painted ones that the "5" has - the grey/black insert type.

Any info available on "Trimtech" (Stirling area I believe)?

Thanks.

Yes they can, just the same as body work only you spray it with bumper/trim paint, which will come in the same colour as your grey or black bumper.................it's similar to the fine stonechip type paint you get from halfrauds for bumpers, only that is crap :? ,pure thinners with a cheap plastasizer paint :? .Most decent coachworks will be able to repair your bumper whether it be cracked(plastic welded) or dented.I could give you a number if your stuck, but it is in Ayrshire.I sprayed a grey trim panel on my 626's bumper with the proper stuff and you could not tell the difference..........so as said before, yes a dent can be repaired :)

That's good news - thanks! :D

I've since made a couple of (hopefully) useful contacts, so we'll soon know for sure... :)
