Retro fitting lights-on buzzer

having just been reminded that the 5 doesn't have a lights left of warning buzzer (wife left the lights on...) is there a way to retro fit such a thing? (1997 mk1)

The Donutz way is expensive and it still needs a diode as it feeds back when the lights are on. All you need is a 12v buzzer and a diode (the one for ftp will do). Wire it between the earth side of the interior light and the light in the ashtray

What do you mean i will need a diode?
I have just sent my cheque away to donutz.
and the last thing i want is to have to start messing about with electronics (as i dont have a clue) :?
Any help on this would be much appreciated. :lol:

If you don't add a diode the unit will whistle when the lights are on. The Donutz unit is only a buzzer

Diode goes between the unit and the interior light earth. Easy. if you get it the wrong way the unit doesn't work
