Had our service today, three hours wait in dealership. :(

Is it worth it?

The second year service includes a brake fluid flush that is a bit of a pain to do and I assume they may have had to finished another car before they got on to your car.

There is no reason to specifically go to a dealer for a service as long as you use a registered motor trader even during the warranty and it is not "better" to get the dealer to do it.

I assume you have to travelt o your nearest dealer.

The third service is oil and oil filterchange and an air filter change and a visual safety check.

Just send the reciept to Mazda UK and they will update the digital service record for you.

thanks for the reply Eddie.

I wonder if they actually do change the brake fluid, in the same way as they charge you for an engine flush, and do they actually do it ? ( just cynical old me )

I had a look under the bonnet after the service and I can't even see the oil filter (3.75) never mind check to see if it's been changed !!

The oil filter is on the bottom of the engine and without getting the car on a lift and removing the access plate you cannot see it.

Even then to remove it easily you need a cup wrench and a few wobble extention bars.

Re the brake fluid well you just have to trust the dealer.

With regards to an engine flush that is just nonsence on a regularly serviced newish car with 7,000 miles.

If you take it to them next year tell them not to use an oil flushing agent no matter what they say.

Hi Eddie,

Yes trusting the dealerships to do what they charge me for is my problem, always has been, think it's genetic

I don't mind paying for something as long as it's done right.
