Bad Fuel

Postby carol » Sun Aug 09, 2015 12:52 pm

Hi all, I think I got bad fuel yesterday as the car was absolutely fine on way into Glasgow and got petrol on way home at bishopbriggs and almost immediately car was not responding well, not accelerating straight away and just felt really sluggish, sounded rattley under the hood too, when I got home was revving it and black smoke coming from exhaust accompanied by a god awful smell. As it was only a tenner i put in some peeps have said fill it up from another garage and it should be fine, some peeps are saying it defo needs drained, no-one in the family is good under the hood so it would need to go to the garage unless anyone can confirm what might work, thanks in advance.

I assume...you did not accidentally pop a gallon/half of Devil Fuel in?
It does happen.

I reckon diesel as well.

Either drain and replace or just put lots more petrol in and it should sort itself over say three tank of petrol but will be a pain for a while.

Maybe Carol is stuck in the middle of nowhere with a dead mobile?
If there is an outlet flogging bad fuel, it needs telling.......
If it was a diesel error...it wont be the first or the last.
