Typical of a radiator that is blocking, that age is a good age for the radiator.

Sorry for the bad news. Otherwise is there any lack of performance or rough running.

its running beautiful , no leaks or boiling sounds when stopped , tank working as it should , after i rebuilt her i filled with water to check for leaks .... all good . drained her down and got the hose in there , water ran clear after a short time , buttoned everything up and all is good except at 70 plus . runs really nice everywhere just this wee niggle . the rad looks new ish .... would a holts flush be of any use ?? Thanks for your input eddie . much appreciated . paul

Try a flush but the opinion is that due to very small diameter tubes om the MX5 core when they block they block.

Yes it improves cooling as it routes the air the correct way under the engine.

If you haven't already ordered a new radiator, I have a brand new one in the attic that I bought when I thought mine was leaking (it was just steaming from over spilled coolant)
