Enjoyed that very much.
How clean is that factory?
Basically and it's no secret, that engine is two VAG VR6s merged into one block. These guys sure are Top-Gun "fitters" but that's about it.
My brother-in-law was an RR engine builder in the late 60's & early 70's. He machined a lot of the reciprocating bits with his little team from solid billet and hand-built the mighty 6.7ltr V8's from scratch.
General Motors pistons (apparently) but none the worse for it, as were the autotrans prior to RR tweaks.
Now that was real engine building. It's said no two engines power outputs were ever identical..be that a good or bad thing.
There is always an imbecile you never bargained for. Usually in a Tescon carpark with a dented Zafira minus hubcaps

Are you sure about that story re the V8????????????????????????????

Forget that, I was thinking it was a GM V8. It was only the auto box and the rear axle that was brought in from the states!
