Visor blanking plates

Postby neuromancer » Wed Aug 04, 2004 10:36 am

I notice a few people (e.g. Loftladderman) have blanking plates after removing the useless sunvisors. I see a few US MX5 stores sell them, but I haven't found anything on UK sites - any ideas.

Not something I've done myself, but the only website I do know of that sells them, and has a good reputation, the the KnobMeister (sounds like a friend of Hardtracks ;))

Thanks, I was hoping to source them from the UK but if forum members have used this site and its got a good reputation then I'll just order it from them.

thanks

I got my "visor plugs" from knobmeister, excellent service - they can even engrave them for you, should you wish.

Roadster sunvisors are better!

Postby salexander » Thu Aug 05, 2004 10:44 am

My first MX5 was a Roadster import with two-part split sunvisors. When I got my California one of the first things I changed was the visors - to Roadster ones! The MX5 ones just get in the way when putting the roof up and down, the Roadster ones are much neater. With the two-part visors you usually only have to flip down the bottom section to cut out glare.

I get mine

Postby loftladderman » Thu Aug 05, 2004 9:52 pm

I get mine locally
Have anything on them you wish.
They fit on with double sided tape, or in my case 2 blobs of blue tack.
Never fallen off yet and fill that hole nicely.
Gold metal, design / words pressed in using dye sublimation ink.
It does not wear off / rub off / or fade...can't be bad :-)
?6 a pair and no need to go to the USA either...LOL

Are you able to disclose who the supplier is without breaching the sites advertising rules?

Visor Plugs

Postby Colin » Sat Aug 07, 2004 1:37 pm

Hi folks

I too got visor plugs from Knobmeister, which come with screwholes to fit existing gaps left by visors. Can't remember what I paid, but they wre cheap, arrived from US promptly and I'm delighted with them.

I went for black with MX5 in blue to match car - niiiice!
Cheers

Knoby

Postby loftladderman » Sun Aug 08, 2004 5:00 pm

Dont know if anyone has TRIED the Knobmiester recently ?
Lots of mention about him in the Sassenach threads.
Not answering emails etc etc.
I tried in MAY and to date have not received any replies when trying to order 3 sets.

Sooooooooooo.... I went local.
Company is called Defade Imaging and can be reached by email on defadeimaging@aol.com

As I said, ?6 a pair, sent out within 2 days of payment, can pay online at Paypal.com, P & P INCLUDED !
I never wanted the holes in them anyway.
I just wanted the plates to cover everything.

They have also done many other signs for me, T shirts, Plaques, mugs, all car related..etc etc.

Not bad, and made in Scotland ! LOL
