What kind of radios do you guys use for your runs? I had the loan of one on Sunday and it was good to have, although I didn't actually speak into it all, but handy to hear what's going on.

" I don't believe it?" The Scottish MX5 Club is full of celebrities, although I don't look like Victor Meldrew, I act like him, (according to my wife) so its appropriate I use his pic.

hi fiona

Argos is your best bet for radios - they have a selection covering most prices I think all are compatable regarding frequency, the one you had on Sunday was the BT freeway it also has an fm radio combined and can be purchased for ?49.99 from argos - argos are also doing a pair of binatone radios for ?22.25 (half price) in their sale this week (I don't know how good or bad the binatone are but its a good price)

sorry - this post looks like a commercial for argos

hehehe

this link is to the quad pack but the have the dual pack on sale

hope this makes sense

Jim
Assume the scenery you were watching all wore mini skirts ????
LOL

I use Cobra PR 3100-2DX Walkie Talkie 2 Way Radios with a useable range of up to 8 Miles / 22 Channels / 38 Privacy Codes / VibrAlert Silent Paging / 10 Call Alert Tones/ VOX
Run on triple A batteries (AAA) and are not heavy on them either !
I have tried many over the years when working on "sites" and these are the best I have found to date.

USA (But made in Thialand ) of course LOL  and cost around ?50 the pair including P & P.
I got mine via xp@xpcreation.com
Not bad looking units either I think.
You can get headsets for them too though I never use them.

I recently bought 2 BT Freeway Radios through ebay.

They were new, boxed and cost ?21 plus posting, but did not come with headsets or batteries. When you add up the cost of these from the same seller, it would be the same price as in Argos.

I have rechargable batteries, but could do with at least one headset, which I will get (?4.99).

The plus point was I had some funds in paypal, so I didn't have to fork out "real money" for them.

I had them on the last run and they work fine.

The only dirt you'll be digging is the hole you're creating for yourself. I'm as clean as a whistle :D
