Bought a Dutch phrase book today (prep for Holland trip)...

Open book, random page - see "een pils, alstublieft" (no prizes!)

But, bu***r me, I can't find "Chic's paying"! - HELP!!

Surely you need to practise things like

"No officer, not nearly as fast as that"

and

"No , not England, Scotland "

:D :D

Anyway, I don't know any Dutch people who don't speak English (usually better than ours

Sorry Gordon but I do not know what CHIC'S PAYING means in English so no chance of understanding it in Dutch. :P

I have been known to occasionally respond to the enquiry "Whats yours" so once you master the new phrase book and work out how to withdraw finances from your pocket I might be available to join in a pils or several.

Gordon

Who are these people you are going with "Jock and Geordie" I knew of a Gav, Dougie, Jim and Gord but had not heard of the other two.
Still if they like mingling in a bar and can understand your dutch phrases then they will be OK
