Insurance Renewal

Postby Fee » Thu Dec 16, 2004 8:36 pm

Just got my renewal notice in from Elephant - ?266 :D :D :D

Ok, that's only for a ten month bonus accelerator package but still, pretty good I say.

Bloomin' eck, that's not bad for a young gal like you! Is it a limited mileage policy??

I aint as young as I look :P

Nope, no mileage limitations, although I have just noticed that I have no bonus protection (10 years) so will get on to them about that, which might bump it up a bit, but still pretty good I think.

It's for everyone but obviously a good thing for new drivers to increase their bonus more quickly.

Ok, got the final figure which I am still really pleased with.

?312 which includes bonus protection which was not previously included, and also upped my average mileage from 6k to 11k, but this is still not a resitricted mileage policy. Also includes personal accident cover.

I'm happy with that! Anyone else using Elephant?

Fi, I'm with Elephant even after declaring my Jackson Racing CAI and exhaust system, I'm still only paying ?274 fully comp! Like you you, I aint as young as I look (or act) but I do live quite close to you, just over the hill in Kilmacolm, so pehaps it's the genteel lifestyle we all live way out west that's doing it for us! or maybe becuase we don't drive "Maxed out" Corsa's!

Hi Fi, mine's a red Mk1 with Pro Race 1 alloys, Recaro seats and a huge Jackson exhaust. Oh, and this time of year, he's wearing a black hardtop. We live at Auchenbothie, which is the nearest part of Kilmacolm to you, and I used to work in Cathcart Street, but not now. I'm sure I have seen you on the dual carriageway near MacDonalds, but you were going too fast to be sure!

Paying a little more.

Postby Meriadoc » Mon Dec 20, 2004 1:55 am

I seem to be paying a little more to insure my 5. Although the policy from elephant was the cheapest around, ?676.68 (10 month bonus accelerator).

However, it?s my first insurance policy, I have six penalty points, 52mph (40mph limit) on the A90, and 67mph on the A702 (50mph limit) at the M8 junction and I only recently celebrated 27th birthday.

Good to know that the cost of my premium will fall substantially, as I slowly become an old codger.

A bit less of the old codger thank you very much, I'm only a year ahead of you. But I guess being a woman my premium is cheaper as we are quite obviously the better drivers

Rocky - yeah, probably was me, but there is another crystal blue that sits in Cathcart St, 02 reg, think the girl works in the bank, but I'm up Terrace Road at Kirkwoods builders - don't hold that against me!!! Will keep an eye out for you and give you a flash

Hardtrack - You've let out my secret!!!! Yuuummm, chicken 6, strawberry milkshake = Happy Fi :D

Yes, while you girlies are a little lacking in "spatial awareness", your also usually a little less cocky. So while you?re more likely to bump and scrap your car while parking, you?re less likely to park the whole thing in a hedge.

That's probably true for most, but not this gal, with the exception that I don't ever intend parking in a hedge!

I'm pretty damn good at a reverse/parallel park, even if I do say so myself :D . Just a pitty my neighbours aren't so talented. Not long after I got my 5, I watched my neighbour attempting to park his car and he bumped the front of mine. Thankfully no damage. He wasn't very impressed when I said "would you like me to park your car for you as you are obviously incapable?". Why do folk insist on driving nose first into spaces when it's quite obvious that it ain't ever going to work?! hee hee hee. Gggrrr, I hate him.

Dear Santa, please may I have (I want never gets according to my mummy) a new house with a drive for my Christmas? Lots of Love, Fi xxx
