History of California No. 21

Postby Stonehaven » Wed Nov 17, 2004 1:01 am

Does anyone know any history of California number 21, M856GHS? The car was originally sold by Westcars Mazda in Glasgow on May 19, 1995 and registered to MR J Kelly of Pollockshields. Its service history shows it as serviced by McKay Mazda in Ediburgh 97-99 and by Arnold Clark in Ayr in 2001, after that it came to Aberdeen. The guy I bought the car from in Aberdeen bought it in Fife from a Mr David Rogers of Dunfermline who had bought the car from Eastern BMW in July 2000. As the car was serviced in Sept 98 by McKay at 11000 miles and then again by McKay four months later at 13800 miles, I guess it probably also changed hands in Jan 99.
The log book shows five previous owners, I know of three of them Mr Kelly May 95-? David Rogers Jul 00-? Scott Borland ?-Aug 04.
Can any of the club members help me fill in the gaps? One thing I am keen on finding out is where the 'worm drive' electric windows where fitted as one is faulty and it would probably be easy to get a matching replacement rather than install a different system. Otherwise I am just curious about the car.
If anyone has Gleneagles N845VSS, I can give them some history on it (nothing bad).

The 'worm drive' that is fitted may well have come from SFT/Sumo, I have recently fitted new ones replacing the original Mazda wire drives.

Phil,
Thanks for the advice. Ordered a new window kit from Sumo yesterday, it arrived today and I fitted it this evening. The same components as the one I removed but in a different order e.g. bemd of worm drive was at the top it is now at the bottom.
