Hi Douglas,

Great eh........we are old gits now......huh......wait a minute, my teddy just fell out of the pram

Looking forward to the Mystery Run on Sunday, if we can find Abington.

Wouldn't it be funny if we all turned up and the mystery was, there was no run.

Fi,

Indeed so did I!

I feel I HAVE to see Macks wee Red 1.6 Eunos Roadster, and have a BIG argument over the price he wants(50zillion) and what I can afford!(50p)(lol) Problem is that we have not been around the same country for the last few weeks and this is not gettin easier over the next month with him in Lithuania and me in Heldleberg etc etc....

However, we hope to meet over his MX5 in the next month and I may therefore be the proud owner of a wee red roadster! If NOT, Mike will be getting a call. The forum mailbox is bulging with Mack and myself chatting.

Also being in the edumacation business ties me to school holidays etc.

The Forum has had a few comments about spulling and typos and priper eNglish, I cun asure youse yins that I am th e wirlds wirst typer and spiller, an dme a teacher type as wel l.

So tehre.

Andy

Enjoy the run with Douglas and his old gits club we younger members thought a holiday might be better than a mystery run especially as we got lost along with Mino on the treasure hunt - take the cheque book for breakfast at Abington - suppose i better take a book on English grammer and spelling to study on the plane before i return to the forum :P

Hi Chic,

From one old git to an older git.

Its a pity you'll miss the run, I was kinda looking forward to watching Heather feed you with liquidised soup. Have you mastered slurping it through a straw yet?

Anyway, have a good holiday, hopefully catch up with you on the next run.

Don.

P.S Is it a Wallace Arnold coach tour you are going on? If so remember and pack your Sydney Devine cassette. :D

magical mystery tour

Postby CharlesK » Wed Sep 15, 2004 9:59 pm

Don I hope that was not Liz you were referring to when you addressed your correspondence"from one old git to and older one"
and by the way Andy - no the 5 cant go but we can hire one on the island only problem is the round trip is only 18 miles and the maximum speed is 24mph - might suit heather and obviously would suit all the old gits who were behind Gav and me going to Skye - think that included Don

Chic,

I know why you can't take the MX5 with you, it won't fit in the luggage compartment of the tour bus

If you need be to feed the Budgie, or collect your pension while you are away, just let me know. :D

Have a nice hol (was it New Zealand?)(green with envy)

NZ Yes partly - but it is bigger than 18 miles around but we can't all be good at Geography  - Cook Islands as well which for some reason keeps advertising Mark 1 MX5s in its brochures for car hire - Given the size of the islands a bicycle would be more appropriate.

Hi Chic,
Dont worry you'll be fine hiring the '5' in the Cook Island's at 24 mph its only 6mph under your usual

Cheers,

Andy

BTW: I haven't qualified for the 'old gits' part of the club yet :D

Don who is Sydney Devine?

There is a Sydney Divine, but she is a pole dancer in Australia, ah, I remember her well

And I await the next comment with bated breath.

Andy,

Sydney Devine was a singer loved by the older generation back in the 70's and 80's, Liz's mum told me about him once, 12 years ago when I last visited her

Chic will have all his LP's, ( LP = A music format before CD, usually poorer quality).

There used to be a joke about it, you've all probably heard it but here goes:-

Q - Whats got 100 legs and no teeth?
A - The front row of a Sydney Devine concert !

Chic You say you did not get lost twice on the last run....was it three times then.....lol

Don
P.S. I take no responsibility for any spooling orrors in this message!

Don - you are probably right about 3 and lost only I think it was 3 cars that got lost - Gavins, Ians and ours as nobody else turned up for the ferry until we had arrived on Skye
Still i suppose it was more enjoyable for you guys driving at a speed low enough to allow the rain into the car

Only wish Bill would let us know if this divine polish dancer called Sydney still lives in Aus or if she has found her way with all the other antipodeans to the north of scotland hostelries - probably at Bills request

Dont let Heather know i used the ant description of her Pacific area - bit touchy on the subject

LP's ? don't remember those very well and has Chic really got all the albums, I asked the guys in my office who Sydney Devine was, got blank looks from most of them, then one of the older generation told me he was a croner from the old days, then i understood why Chic might know who he was
