HI just bought a 98 Mk2 last week, which I already love 2bits Need some advice on hood though? I need a repair to front of hood I have been quoted ?120 to repair ,which sounds O.K Would I be better buying a complete new hood.if so where is the best place to buy.Would it be feasible to fit it myself I am pretty good with cars and have a very clever garage owner mate who lets me use his facilities . If not who is this guy Dave from Callander who fits hoods

Before spending ?120 on repairing a hood, I'd have a think about how much life it's got left in it. If its the original hood (i.e. coming up for 6 years old) then I'd just replace it. My hood is now 7 years old and definately not worth repairing should the need ever arise.

food for thought.

Welcome dixie...think it should be Dave from http://sftmx5parts.co.uk/
which is where you buy the hoods, and Richard from Callander (RichardN on this forum) who is their Scottish fitter. Hope this helps. :)
