True to their word, the lift guys arrived at 7:15 this morning, fitted the missing bit and filled the lift hydraulic oil tank up and by 8:30 am the MK3 was in the air.

Oh and it came back to the ground without a problem.

So plenty to do over the Xmas holidays.

Second attempt - don't know what happened to the first one!

You'll be pleased the Mk3 came back to earth. Cracking Christmas present from Joan - I hope she likes the CD you bought for her!
Merry Christmas.....

Final touches for Joan's Christmas present as the roller door is fitted. The door is made by Horfman. My tradesmen friends had said do not fit it yourself as you have to lift the whole roller up at high level and then thread it down the guides. This being very difficult with a 5 mtr wide door that I have.

The Horfman door is much easier and it uses it's own mechanism to lift the roller on to the mechanism as you can see in the photos.

That's the same Hormann door that I had fitted to my garage, not as big as yours though.
Brilliant design compared to all the other electric doors that I could find, very happy with it. :D

This is the nicest 2 post arrangement yet seen.. sunk into the ground by 6ft! You could even recess the arms themselves into the ground.. It even runs on water so "green" but not sure about those cold winter's nights (ground should never freeze.. and I guess it has antifreeze/anti corrosion agent in it). Compressed air does the actual work so no need for a big electric power supply but then air efficiency is not too great.. but you could have plenty of time to build up a head of "steam" in a large air reservoir with a small compressor on a 13A plug.

Pain is that the posts are under the car so you cannot get full access to the sills etc. They did this to remove bending moment from the aluminium 8.5" tubes. No UK agents..no CE marking.

One for Eddie's extension of his extension..

I did consider it but my two post was £2,000 purchased and installed by the vendor.

In saying that I was warned that the posts do get in the way and they do.

This piece of kit was around £8,000 supply only.

At times I do think I should have gone one of those but then I would be too busy working to take my neighbours dog for a walk and little Meg would not like that!

Nice ..but not £8k nice (got to import and install).
The dog is just to get you out of the garage .. so stopping you spending it on the Mk2 (time or money).
