Ian

If it is the bolts for the rear deck, you can get these from MX5 Parts for #10. Don't know if that is for 1 or 2. The hardtop clips on using the same clips as the soft top at the windscreen plus there are 2 other similar catches at the top of the B posts. I assume that all cars have these but if yours does not, you can get them from MX5 parts. #38.50.

Bought a hardtop stowage system from them and spoke with them on the phone. They were very helpful so it would do no harm to give them a ring if you need clarification.

Some of the deals for a replacement vinyl soft top in STHT looked pretty good so I assume you are hoping for a stonking deal on Ebay!

Best of luck.

What the heck do you WANT a hard top for ??

They are cumbersome, they stop the car being a soft top when fitted.

No matter HOW good they are, and both Richard and myself have one...both of us have them suspended in our garage roof space for spiders to settle in !

Never seen Richards car with his on, and he has never seen mine with mine on.

Must assume they are a waste of money then ! LOL

There are two posts above...one from the man who SELLS soft tops (David...and as I have bought 3 from him very recently....you can bet they are good quaility) and Richard who is the Fitter of soft tops for Scotland.

Both are too modest and would never push you towards a replacement softty BUT...for what you will pay for a hard top...and transporting it to Aberdeen??? You could buy a FEW soft tops ! ! !

Just as an aside...folk in the English forum (I forget where the thread is) have had their hard tops STOLEN !
To be sold for ?500 on Ebay no doubt !
BEWARE !

Hardtop

Postby EunosJ » Tue Aug 10, 2004 2:36 pm

Ian,

This is your lucky day!

I am wanting to sell my hardtop, I have just recieved it back from the painter yesterday, and it is in gleaming shiny glossy black - it is like new!

Black goes with everything, and black is a slimming colour.

It used to be fitted to my Eunos, but I have since sold the car.

And NO, this is not a stolen hardtop, I bought it on ebay, it was scratched and chipped in transit, I had it on my car over winter, I then sold the car, but the hardtop stayed with me and I decided to have it resprayed to get it looking good with the intention of selling it (and also I did not have any takers at the last bargain price in its previous condition).

It won't post because it is bigger than the Royal Mail's upper limit.

And as a special one time offer to you and any other member of this forum I'll sell it for ?450.

I will be putting it on ebay for about ?500 soon.

James.

Heck you can buy MY hardtop in white and paint it any colour you WANT.
Will costs you ?325 with the harness (Cost around ?70) for suspending it from the ceiling of your garage.
Collect from Montrose.

BUT...can buy a new soft top from David and nip down to Calander and have Richard fit it FOR A LOT LESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Soft is GOOD :-)
