Finally got my side stripes fitted today. Really pleased with how they make the car look now!

Don't know how others feel but I really like how those decals look on the car. It's given it a real old skool Lotus racer look and what really comes to mind is images of the John Player Specials!

Love It! 8)

Exactly.
The only stripes I like are old school factory on 60's Shelby Mustangs myself.
But these do look factory Ltd Edition JPS-ish..so fair play. Very nice. 8)

Cheers, Ha ha - no, I think RPF1s can pull off being their own colour.

Side stripes tie in when i've got the roof down and my tan tonneau cover on.

I was thinking of toddling down to this one in SWMBO's Sport.
I just shelled out for a professional detailing & chassis clean up... and it's set to rain...so nope.
Mk1? Well..I'm stripping of the tasty bits..and scrapping.
Time to go. Had 13 years out of it and I'm not chasing any more rust.
I'll get another Mk1 with a solid tub instead.

Edit.
Actually, I was thinking you might like this IL rear plate perspex cover.
It's got a wee crack on one of the screw fixes but it is nothing you could not deal with.
It will need a good plastic polish reconditioning too.

Sorry to hear about the demise of your mk1 but probably best decision.

Not something I had ever looked at fitting to be honest, how much you looking for it?

Not much at all.
I'll whip it off next week, clean it up a bit, and pop a photo in here so you can decide.
£15.00 including post I think is fair. Have a look next week.

Hmmm been looking into these bud.

It seems you have to drill to fit so I'm not sure it's for me :(

Thanks for thinking of me though!

You do indeed. Back panel needs offing ideally. They are tiny holes though.
However, I was going to say to you today that since I'm in the market next year for a solid Mk1 Roadster, hopefully as excellent as yours, I'd prefer to keep it.

Latest update!

An item i've been after for ages came up for sale on one of the MX5 Facebook groups last week so I had to buy it - got it from a guy in Bournemouth, posted Friday and arrived Saturday!

It's an IL Motorsport rear view mirror and I love it. OK, it vibrates above certain revs which means you see double out of it but it's definitely a case of form over function :D

I also took the car to my first classic show on Sunday, Thirlestane Castle in Lauder. I had lots of interest and loads of folk came up for a chat about the car. Unfortunately I was parked under a tree all day so came home covered in sap and bird poo :( Had to wash the car as soon as I got home, but thankfully with all the wax on her it came off pretty easily.

Some photos at the show:

Being judged...

13 years?! Has it really been that long

Still sad to hear that it's time to wave it goodbye :(

I have fixed my image hosting issues!

Basically Photobucket are saying i've gone over my 3rd party hosting limit and want me to pay $400 a year to continue so time to move everything lock, stock to another host.

They seem to be working, so fingers crossed!

Some latest photos of the car at a Central Scotland MX5 club meet in Falkirk last week (photo credits to Ryan Gilhooley).
