Nice looking car - good colour and wheel combo. If it weren't for the much talked about chassis rail issues with Mk2/2.5s, I'd definitely be keen on one like this!

There are, I would say, about 20/30% that so far have escaped terminal worm, so they are out there to be found.
At least you are clued up as to what to look for.
There is always an imbecile you never bargained for. Usually in a Tescon carpark with a dented Zafira minus hubcaps

Sorry guys you have just got to accept that the Mk2 front chassis rails and both the Mk2 and Mk1 sills, front wings and rear arches are now consumables that as Robin say will not need changed on about 20% of cars.

Remember a new Mk4 will loose somewhere between £11k and £14k to run over three years.

It is unlikley you will get away with just normal servicing on Mk1, Mk2 and soon Mk3 cars.

I have had my MX-5 for 2 years now and it's just over 32,000 miles on the clock. So low mileage for year (2004), Little bit of rust starting to appear round the rear wheel arches most on offside which I am currently fixing. I have had a good look under the car and there is a bit of surface rust to sort out this winter / next spring then more Waxoyl to spray on. Took part in the "round the top" road trip this year. Excellent trip even the snow at the end added to the fun.
