Following the footsteps of many others across to Applecross

Postby bmv6197 » Mon Sep 21, 2015 5:12 pm

Have been meaning to post up a couple of pictures of a trip I did with a couple of mates across the Bealach na Ba to Applecross a few weeks ago, via Glenshee, Glencoe and then back via Inverness and the Lecht Pass. Three days of superb driving (and decent food and beer too!).

For those who have never done it, I would thoroughly recommend it, especially if you can catch a few days of great weather as we were fortunate enough to do.

And yes, our convoy was my NA MX5, a '72 MGB and a Land Rover Defender - an eclectic collection for sure! While luckily we never needed the Land Rover's winch ourselves, we did have to use it to help some others who had "pulled over" a little too far...

Looks like you got a break with the weather, I have went over the pass a number times and I usually only ever see rain, snow or fog...

P.S. The N/A looks fantastic :D

Thanks! It's always hard to photograph a BRG car in bright sunlight, but I'd rather have poor photos than poor weather! Mid-week too so the pass was very quiet - we were very lucky.

Good luck Ian. Forecast not great until Friday, Saturday. We didn't even stop at the top a couple of weeks ago!

Saturday will be in Oban area, came over the Bealach today and it was clear, odd shower around, nothing to worry about though, top down all the way.
