i had what i thought was a glovebox rattle that was driving me mad, it turned out to be a loose bonnet hinge - check for play at the hinges with the bonnet closed. a pair of hinges cost me about a tenner off ebay and the problem was sorted.

gm u r a genius jst went out to check the hinges and cant believe it I have a rattling bonnet. I even got the girlfriend to rattle it while i sat in the car and sounds exactly the same noise. R they reasonably easy to fit as it looks like i need to remove the wing is there an easier way as i hate long jobs and moving body panels.

it's a fairly easy job, you need to undo the top of the wing and gently bend it back to get to the nuts below. have someone handy to hold the bonnet in place while you swap the hinges over, maybe use a folded towel to protect the windscreen just in case. shouldn't take you long at all.

try ak automotive down near Newcastle for a set of hinges, they should be able to help you out without breaking the bank.
