When I came back to my car in Linlithgow Tesco Car park yesterday I found this 1967 Mini parked next to me 8)

Drive it to Aberdeenshire and back home and you will realise how good your MX5 is.

Both look pretty good.
2009 Convertible Coupe 2.0L Sport now that the 2005 LE and 2007 Z Sport Limited are dead.

Very nice (both of them!)

Being a Mini nut I feel the need to don my annorak and say that either that mini has been reshelled with a later shell or it's a 'private' plate. :wink:

No a search on DVLA ties in the year as a standard 1000 cc Mini.

So a reshell may to be the case.

An article in Car magazine on the works Cooper S cars advised they were reshelled every third event and the engines changed every main event.

So the people that buy the original works cars are being taken for a ride.

Agreed mini looks like a mrk3 shell, on ma phone looks like metal opening rear 1/4 windows, and internal door hinge?
Brings back memories mini and of my mx5 too. Sniff sniff

Not a lot of places on an old mini for Vin numbers as they tend to rust off. Buy an old plate and pop rivet on the chassis number and fit it to a newer shell and then get tax free per 1972!!!!!!!
