new project

Postby tjay » Wed Feb 23, 2011 12:38 am

Now that JC (my black classic) is gone here is my new project, got it home yesterday evening,Photo's were taken this morning before i dropped it to be welded (in the usual places, both sills are U.S,) rear arches are ok, 126000mls but engine had a £1050 rebuild 900 mls ago with reciepts to prove, FSH Mazda garage upto 117000 mls by one owner.
Then it went to the son a second car and has only done 5500 mls over last four and a half years.
Let the project commence,if anyone has some old /good parts that may look good on it let me know.
cheers

Hi Tom, Seems like decent motor you`v got your hands on. Got Pamela back this morning from the bodyshop,Dave needed the space to start on yours,He`s made a really nice job ! New arches and rear sills looks brand new, so i think you left yours in good hands. And the workshop is dead handy being this side of Downfield !

Tom

The car looks very nice in Red.

Main problem will be do you take the Mk1 or Mk3, Mk1 or Mk3.

Colin, if you heat the tax disc, it comes off no bother and you can use it again if you hav,nt got another one.

Hi Colin ,your car looked great ,Dave has done a braw job.Once he finishes the punto he is working on just he will do my car.Young mech Mike next door is fitting the new drilled/grooved discs and coppersliping all the calipers to ensure the brakes will pass the MOT. He is also swopping the I & L exhaust from black to red car, plus the Eibach springs.
Have got many other bits and pieces lying around my garage/shed to fit as well.
Allie your right i was too quick to sell the seat covers but as your so nice it's not a problem as I have other thoughts towards the interior.

Tom that exhaust on the black car is a long cat exhaust (only on the last of the MK1). The red car has a different size cat

The standard exhaust is ok but very bland, the I & L sounds good !!
