I have an audio link for the mk2.5 and have just bought a mk3.5. will the previous unit work with new car? The head unit is single CD not Bose. If yes how do I remove the head unit. it has the sat nav facia.

Hi Lorraine, I have the full instructions for the iPod connection/adapter for the Mk3, it was already fitted to the original Mazda radio/cd player in our car when we bought it. I can make copies and send them to you. Actually, I have just taken a quick look at the instructions, it looks a proper b**ger to fit this one!!!!! There must be a easier/better option than this 'official' Mazda conversion!!!!

I don't like the sound of a bu**er to fit. There is a set of cables in the glove box anyway and all I need are red and white audio cables with a headphone plug at the end and a power cable to fire up the ipod. Seems a hell of a bother when I could maybe have used the old audio link. It was easy to remove from the mk2.5 with only one white plug thing connected. I'd rather hoped it was easy to stick in the new car. I have the metal things to remove the old head unit but I am not sure if the same ones do the new unit. I think if I can get the audio cable I will give it a bash first as its just plug in and play I think. :?

Not to bad to fit if you have small hands, just drop the glove box down on its hinges (2 screws, I think from memory) then it is a matter of feeling where the cable plugs into the socket in the back of the stereo, a wee bit footery but I managed one new-years day with a hang-over
