NSE The Gathering - The Convoy

Postby The Pram » Thu Aug 21, 2008 12:06 pm

The time has come to stick your name down for this not to be missed yearly event. Can you please add your name to Centrals thread
http://www.mx5scotland.co.uk/events.php?event_id=235
so that Douglas can get total numbers for lunch etc but also put your name here so that I can start to plan the convoy. Thanky you

The Gathering

We're going Forres-Grantown-Tomintoul-Braemar if anyone wants to join us. Taking both cars if Smurf isn't poorly. I do hope she'l be better - she's leaving the country a week later!! 8)

Is that the Royal We?

If you can gather up more northern troops then all the better. As we have to drive through Braemar anyway we can meet up there.

No, that's 'im driving Miss Daisy and me in the Smurf. If it's numbers you're after we're aiming to please!

We've never driven this route before - another excuse to go for a run 8) 8)

I'm thinking we might drag Ricky along, - do you know if PaulDS is coming?

Ok Bill. I'm sure you can tag on to a Central or Colins convoy.
Looking forward to see you both again. I can't believe it has been a year already

Bill, the NSS convoy is leaving from the Horseshoe Diner (15 miles along the Perth/Dundee motorway - Google maps PH14 9RS).

We'd be delighted to be joined by you both - keep an eye on the Events and North Scotland pages.
Cheers

Current plan is to travel from either Black Isle or Kingussie Newtonmore area, so depending on the overnight choice could possibly join in Forres.

Tagging the Gathering on after a trip round the top (Inverurie - Ullapool - Laxford Bridge - Smoo - then either South at Tongue, Golval, Thurso or John O' G - to be decided). The car is unlikely to be particularly clean after that little lot so will have to hide it in a corner of the Car Park at Spittal

I wish I going on your trip. Sunds good. I now have other things to deal with so my own 'monvoy' has been shelved!
Perhaps you can PM Angie to see what she has planned for coming down to the Gathering?

I've done a quick head count and we could get as many as 22 cars going if all the usual suspects turn up. So far we have 12 so come on the other 10, you know who you are. Lets make the NSE side look even better than the 14 we had last year  It won't hurt honest 8)

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't been checking in very often over the last few weeks/ couple of months. Life has just been hectic and continues to be so. At least I managed a few nice sunny drives on the occasional days we had decent weather over the summer.

Unfortunately, it seems very unlikely that I will manage the gathering. A shame because it was a great event last year. So, count me out I'm afraid. If things change and I can make it, I'll tag along and sort myself out for food etc but I don't think it will happen. :(

Hello there, long time no speak. It's not a problem, life has a habit of getting in the way of car stuff. If you do come along then I know there will be other folks in the carpark having picnics so you wont be on your own. Hope to see you some time in the near future anyway.
Have you seen the Frozen Penguin lately?

That sounds like the kind of thing secret agents sidle up to each other and say in those old corny movies. Am I supposed to reply something like "the moon over Moscow is beautiful at this time of year"? ;)

Actually, no, I haven't seen him around. I was just thinking the other day that I hadn't spotted him for a while. :?
