Wolf's Run.

Postby Rostra » Fri Aug 22, 2008 4:09 pm

Hello folks - we're back from SUNNY 8) Mull, and won the war of the midges with only a few battle scars to show.

WOW - 12 cars and 17 for lunch!!! Good on yer....... We're looking forward to it and keeping fingers crossed for a sunny day. We did part of the route today with the van on the back (of the Passat) and the heather is GORGEOUS.

Have you all boned up on your 'History of Morayshire' and worked out why this one's called 'Wolf's Run' yet?? (Put your hand down Pram - I already told you.)

I second Mike (not the bangers and mash though, we were not invited!). A huge thanks to Angie and David for organising a superb run for us today. It has to be one of the best we have done (FAO IanH - it was really horrible and the roads were like motorways. You would have hated it so you did the best thing not coming). Will definately appear on next years planner
So on behalf of my members and I ( ) - THANK YOU VERY MUCH ANGIE and DAVID 8)

Wolf's Run

Postby Rostra » Sun Aug 24, 2008 10:12 pm

Whooooheee - well that was fun!! Glad you all enjoyed it, though in my next life I am coming back as a sheepdog. Sorry if it was a bit quick for some of you, and a bit slow for others - but hey .... you can't please all of the people etc etc.
Dave and I did (most of) the first half again on the way home with a stop for a couple of pints (him) anda cuppa (me) at Craigellachie - but this time we didnt have to think about anyone else. Then put on the Telly to find Andrew Marr up in a microlite telling us why this part of the country is the way it is. Well - we could have shown him. He should have come along too. Is he too posh (for which read 'rich') to be one of us??

All I can say is - how lucky are we? And even luckier to be wending our way home back over Dava Moor rather than ploughing along the 96 into Aberdeen....... (sorry Lorraine).

Same time next year then? And we promise to solve the problem of the traffic lights in Nairn.

Oh, and Sorry we left you behind Bernard - Our Sweeper Upper could have done better

And sorry you didn't make it Paul and Ian, but one of you would have been the THIRTEENTH car, so better not, eh?

See you all at The Gathering.
Bye for now
Off to buy another car............. 8) 8) 8)
